The University of Virginia offers undergraduate students multiple opportunities to apply for fellowship and academic scholarship opportunities to support study at UVa, research projects, and/or travel in Asia. • Ellen Bayard Weedon Travel Grants for Language Study
  This grant is awarded by UVa’s East Asia Center. Funds granted are to be used towards the cost of round-trip airfare between Charlottesville and East Asia. Travel within an Asian country will not be covered by the grant.
• Mastercard Asian Studies Scholarship
  Established by Ms. Rebecca George and H. Eugene Lockhart Jr. to encourage the study of Asia, the Mastercard Asian Studies Scholarship is an annual scholarship is awarded each year to a student who shows excellence in language study and creative approaches to topics in South Asian or East Asian studies or languages.
