UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program
UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program. Our NC Fellows had an enriching and inspiring day at the University of Virginia. The day began with an engaging workshop led by Dr. Lillard and her Ph.D. students Emily Daggett, where our fellows explored the principles and practices of Montessori education. Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning, they gained valuable insights into child-centered teaching methods and the impact of Montessori philosophy on early childhood development.
The fellows also enjoyed lunch together with Dr. Lillard and her team, providing a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss educational practices, and strengthen professional connections.
In the afternoon, the group visited the Early Education Lab, where they observed innovative teaching approaches, learned about current research in early childhood education, and experienced practical demonstrations of effective instructional methods.
To conclude the visit, Dr. Lillard graciously signed copies of her book (Montessori : The Science Behind the Genius) for our fellows, creating a memorable keepsake from an inspiring day of learning and collaboration.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Angeline Lillard and her Ph.D. students for their warm hospitality and for sharing their expertise.
